Hey guys! I hope you are all having a fab summer!
With Scotland only getting a few days of sunshine, I’m finding myself not being able to wear very summery clothes or dresses this year. However, I thought I would try something new this summer and buy myself a pinny dress.
I won’t lie- I used to really dislike these kind of dresses, but with them coming back into style recently, I have seen a few designs I really like. I much prefer black pinafore dresses as you can wear a lot more with them, and they can be worn in the summer or winter.
I saw this dress in New Look and had to have it! It was only £15 so it’s a bargain as well!
With pinny dresses, I personally think a top with quite a high neck should be worn underneath- not necessarily as high as I am wearing in these photos, but to counteract the deep v neck of the pinny, I would raise the neckline of the top underneath. I wore my Topshop crop top I got last summer in the sale.
I accessorised with my favourite Love Moschino bag and little black ballet pumps. I think flat shoes should be worn with pinafores- as they are quite cute little dresses- so to continue the cutsie look, a little pair of ballet pumps work well.
I finished off the outfit with my Zara light blue jacket. I am just obsessed with it! They also do a cute light pink version as well as a mustard yellow and burgundy one so definitely check them out!
I’ve added some links to some pinny dresses I really like below, as well as items to accessorise with.
I hope you enjoyed reading and have a fabulous week!
Lots of love,
Rachael xx
